BPL produces human plasma derived proteins for the UK and Export market. Based at Elstree in the UK it has a turnover of >£110 million with a staff level of 450 people. BPL operates in a regulated (MHRA/FDA) environment.

Functional responsibility as Interim Supply Chain Director with 9 direct reports developing a revised supply chain operating model to meet the challenges and demands of the global plasma industry; this will lead to the reduction of >40% of inventory (£15 million) and >£1 million in supply chain costs over 18 months.

Worked initially as Interim Production Director reporting to the Managing Director and a full member of the site steering committee. Responsible for 8 direct management reports and a staff of >200 people. Led a transition program to develop performance reporting, revise production planning and introduce the principles of supply chain management.

Introduced Sales & Operations Planning process together with software tools to sustain improvements.

Led the project to upgrade site business systems by introducing a new ERP system and integrating with other site specific sub systems.

Led a project to implement performance measures linked to business strategy from top level down to lower layers.

Supported and led a revised project and program management methodology to support the future growth of the business.

Directed a project to outsource aseptic filling operations.

Led the strategy for distribution via third party logistics (3PL) into the USA and working to GDP standards.

Involved to establish new regulations for Falsified Drugs and serialisation, track & trace

Norgine is a mid sized specialist pharmaceutical business with a turnover of >£200 million with production centres in UK and France together with distribution across Europe.

As a full member of the Manufacturing & Supply (M&S) Executive team and reporting to the VP M&S; led the Manufacturing & Supply Chain teams during an ERP (JD Edwards) implementation. Successful go live from January 2008 has been followed up by further process harmonisation and development.
Supported VP M&S to develop M&S strategies including; facilitation of M&S executive workshops plus 5 day M&S conference in Madrid for >50 people, M&S Objective setting and reporting
Full ownership and responsibility for M&S Operational Excellence development, business process reengineering, introducing lean / agile principles and metrics processes.
Coaching to the M&S Executive to develop changes to organisation ready to become a global business, focus on cost reduction across the manufacturing and supply base.
Support to the commercial organisation to implement Sales & Operations Planning process and new processes for New Product and Project Management.
Project manager for a number of M&S strategy surveys to be implemented in 2010 to reduce cost of goods by 8 to 10%
Developed ‘end to end’ value stream models of the supply chain together with identification of cost saving potential projects to be rolled out in 2009/2010
Supported the deployment of the Norgine New Business model and established M&S support in Amsterdam; including Procurement, Purchasing and Quality teams.
Developed Norgine Data Management and Artwork processes and globalised under a new Global Artwork centre in Amsterdam
